Usually, I wouldn’t recommend using MDF scenery kits as the level of details is far below the one we get with resin kits and the porosity of MDF make it very hard to have a smooth paint finish. However, as I didn’t found any resin scenery kit for an electric pylon or a diner, I ended up looking at the MDF scenery kits. I found two kits fitting my need in 4-Ground catalog, which is great because the kits this company makes are pre-painted, meaning that the MDF is less porous and make it easier to paint.
I think I changed a little bit my mind regarding MDF scenery kit. XD
Actually, if you customise them with some plastic cards and find a way to seal the porosity of the MDF surface, you can do some great sceneries at a moderate cost. I would be curious to know your own opinions/experiences about MDF scenery kits?
